1st Review! AVON Smooth Minerals Pressed Foundation
I know it may be weird to see an Avon product being reviewed these days. When my friends asked for my favorite powder they were surprised to hear I used Avon. In my area Avon has the reputation of being for women a little bit older than me I guess, but if you are still stuck on the idea that Avon is your "mom's" make-up in my opinion they are definitely making a comeback with great new products for all ages.
So, back to the product :). This pressed foundation is amazing, let me repeat, amazing! It is classified as a medium to full coverage foundation, but if applied right it can also just be a light setting powder. As the name states, the texture of this powder is definitely smooth & so easy to work with.
This powder does not contain sunscreen, however if you are using it as your only coverage you will just need to make sure you apply a moisturizer with sunscreen before applying. However, if you actually look at the ingredients, it does contain some sunscreen ingredients like titanium dioxide, so it might provide some protection.
I have used this powder as a foundation & a setting powder. As a foundation you should apply with either a kabuki brush (the Avon one is nice and only $4.99) or a sponge. The sponge works better if you have fine lines or large pores to cover. -*Quick tip* If you are trying to hide fine lines or large pores get the product on your sponge and kind of rock/press it into the skin, it will fill in the lines or pores and make your skin almost flawless. But please, please, please, when using this tip do not hide every line or pore as it will make your skin look rather fake, I know that sounds funny but trust me it looks kind of weird if you have no lines or pores.-
As a setting powder, apply with a fluffy brush and blend. Super easy!
A small trick I have found for this powder also is, if you pick up some of the powder with an eyeshadow brush ( I use the e.l.f. Essential Eye Shadow Brush, its only $1) and pat the powder under your eyes or blend on blemishes either over concealer or just alone and it will cover amazingly!
The price on this powder is usually $11.00, but as with most of Avon's products, it goes on sale every couple of Campaigns so you can get it for way cheaper!
So all in all this powder has definitely been great for me, I make sure I always have some on hand.
As for Ingredients this is what you will find in this foundation:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Bismuth Oxychloride, Zinc Stearate, Zinc Oxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Di-Ppg-3 Myristyl Ether Adipate, Dimethicone, Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment, Saccharomyces/Magnesium Ferment, Saccharomyces/Tourmaline Ferment, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Diisostearyl Malate, Silica, Tocopherol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Calcium PCA, Kaolin, Zinc PCA, BHT, Methylparaben, Butylparaben
Does Avon test on Animals : No ma'am :)
Lets Start Out With Some Dupes!!
OK, first off, What is a dupe? In make-up a dupe is generally seen as one item that can be purchased instead of another to achieve the same color or results. Now some people will take an item like a MAC eyeshadow and tell you what the Make Up For Ever equivalent is of it, well that doesn't really help me out because to me the whole point of a dupe is I don't want to spend $15 on an eyeshadow. So my definition of a dupe will be to tell you the cheaper version of the expensive item :)
So for my first 'real' blog post I think I will share some dupes with you! I have spent hours and hours searching the Internet to find swatches claiming to be dupes, I have tested tons of these myself, and some are from people I really trust. These dupes I'm going to share are about the closest you can come to getting the exact same shade, so I hope you enjoy!!

If you bought every one of the lipsticks on the expensive side you would be paying about $288, if you buy all the lipsticks on the dupes side you would be paying about $93.14 (and thats at full price, places like Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and Ulta have huge make-up sales all the time)
The prices may vary depending on where you buy the product! If you're having trouble finding something let me know and I will let you know where I found it!
Now with these dupes I'm not saying you can't buy the expensive version, I personally love MAC Lipsticks...not so in love with the price! If you have the money I say go for it, splurge on yourself, but I like buying stuff for my kiddos more then me so I like to save money for them ;). So I hope this helps and I will be posting an eyeshadow dupe post soon!! Stay healthy and happy!

Hello :)
So, you've stumbled across yet another blog "claiming" to have the best tips for make-up, hair, skin & all that fun stuff...NEXT! But wait!! I swear this one is at least a little different! What qualifies me to tell you what is good & what isn't? Well, absolutely nothing :), (haha) but in a world where there are so many products claiming to do so many things I think it is important to have some who will give you their unbiased opinion. What else makes me different from all the rest? Well once again not too much (haha), but please just give me a chance because next to my kids, make-up is my passion & I would love to share it with you!
A little bit about me:
I am 21 years old (woo hoo), I am the mother of one beautiful little almost 2 year old, stepmother to an amazing little boy & girl, & I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my next little girl! Yes, I know I am young and thats a lot of kids ha I get that a lot. But I love all my babies! I am currently a stay-at-home mom, and I am working on beginning my business as a freelance make-up artist (hard to do with a big 'ol belly poking people while you put their make-up on though ;)) So yes I am very busy with a very full plate and you might be wondering where I find the time to even apply make-up let alone blog about it. And the answer to that would be at about 10:00 at night when all my kiddos are tucked in for the night.
So with all that you can see most of my reviews (& hopefully tutorials coming soon!) will be on how stuff works as a busy momma! I also want to share how to get those gorgeous yet expensive looks for less!
Hopefully you are still with me & I would love to hear from you if you are reading this! Thanks for your time!!
